He's Here, He's There, He's EVERYWHERE!

That was the theme of my sister's family birthday party yesterday!! Who is "he", you ask?? John Lennon! Or as I like to call him, John Lemon.

She got present after present of John Lennon!!! It was just OVER AND OVER, book after book, CD after CD, photo after photo, IT WAS INSANE. I actually got a picture of the Beatles with her name on it, which I got done at the Wethersfield Corn Fest (which by the way was AMAZING!).  It does look pretty cool, though. I'm glad she got what she wanted, though. Go JOHN LEMON!!!

Harry Potter Poll

So, I've been looking at my poll about the favorite Harry Potter books of everyone. One day left to vote, people! But it seems like practically everyone likes the dealthy Hallows the best. My personaly favorite is Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, but everyone's entitled to their own opinion, obviously. If you don't agree with the last Harry Potter book being the best, then VOTE!! Get people you know to vote, too! ONE DAY LEFT!!! TICK, TOCK, TICK, TOCK, TICK, TOCK....

Sore Legs, Steep Hills, and a Fun Afternoon

Has anyone ever climbed  a really steep hill? Correction: Has anyone ever chased some kids up a really steep hill? I went to my dad's retirement party (retirement from being chair of the English department at CCSU; he's not stopping work) and all his colleagues were there. And all his colleagues' kids were there. And I had tons of fun playing with all those kids. But these hills we were climbing were HUGE!! We were playing freeze tag, regular tag, pretty much every running game you could play. And we were going, UP AND DOWN, UP AND DOWN, UP AND DOWN! My legs are very sore right now. I still had a lot of fun, though. And the kids I was playing with were really fun to play with!!!! But steep hills are really hard to climb!! And I'm the hyper one in the family!! The warmth of my laptop on my lap is helping, though. Ah, they feel nice. I'm not expecting to be bouncing around the house tonight!!

Greek Goddesses

Who thinks Greek goddesses are cool? Virtually raise your hand!!!! I think Greek goddesses are really awesome, so I decided I would be one for Halloween (yes, I'm aware it's a while away, people). So, I'm sitting here thinking: "I can't just go around saying I'm a Greek goddess. I have to choose which one I want to be!" So I've been thinking about it and decided this:

1. No Hera
2. No Hestia
3. No Artemis

And it went like this for a while until I finally lowered it to two.

Athena
or
Aphrodite

I like them both! So which one should I choose? I decided I could get a little help from other people. Who do you think I should be for Halloween? Vote on my poll or leave a comment!!!! Please!!! I'll give you a couple of weeks! Thank you in advance!!!!

An A"maze"ingly Hard Maze!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^^^^^^^^^^^^
CHEESY JOKE! CHEESY JOKE ALERT!
 Sorry about that.

Down to business. The Corn Maze!!!! The hardest maze EVER imaginable (in my opinion...then again, I've hardly ever gone in mazes, so please take my opinion as a grain of salt)!!!! It will confuse you beyond our human comprehension! It took my sister and I a little over an hour to get through this thing. Now mind you, we're not stupid. This thing was BIG. And the corn must've been 7 feet tall. I AM NOT KIDDING. You also have trivia questions (in the category of your choice) you have to answer that lead you in the correct direction. If you're wrong, you're WRONG. You have to go back to the exact space where you originally answered the question and take another crack at it. My sister and I chose the category "Movies, Music and TV". But these question were from a long time ago!!! We don't know the answers!!! Finally a Corn Cop (one of the workers) led us through the maze and got us much closer to the exit.

SARCASM TIME:
It was very reassuring that on the back of her shirt it said:

CORN COP
Don't follow me, I'm lost, too!

That would have really freaked me out if she didn't have a cheat sheet version of the map in her hand.
My point is, if you're just lying around one day thinking, "Hmm, I really want to do a lot of running around, confusing myself, and difficult as heck," then I would highly suggest the Corn Maze. You might find this hard to believe, but I had A LOT of fun. Who cares if you're lost and hot and tired?! It really was fun. It was also rewarding to walk back up the hill and get a giant jug of apple cider and a big bag of kettle corn.
Unfortunately, my sister and I were racing our parents, and we lost by a landslide. But boo hoo for us, it's just a maze.

One more thing: at the end we got stickers that said "I Survived the Maze!"
It really depends on their definition of "survived"....
