Monkees HEAD

Has anyone here heard of the Monkees? Sadly, these days, all the good bands like the Beatles and the Beegees and the Monkees are all forgotten for Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber. Oy. Anyways, this post isn't about how the quality of music has plummeted over the years.
If you have heard of the Monkees, then pat yourself on the back! If you know about them, then you probably know that  they had a TV show, but that later on they made a movie called "HEAD". My dad got the movie for Christmas, and last night we watched it. I was so confused after it, it's not even funny. My mom said it makes you wish you were on LSD so you could actually understand it! But all the special effects made it really odd, an dthen with the random scenes you couldn't tell whether it was a dream or whether the Monkees were on drugs or if it was supposed to be on a movie set or what. It was the most utterly ridiculous thing I had ever watched. But it sort of made you wonder. About like how dreams are created, or how your dreams are based on your mood, or how your mood is affeected by your emotion. It was actually pretty cool, that afterhtought. But I will warn you, if you ever watch it, you will be completely discombobulated during your first viewing.
So I think what you should do is even if you've never even HEARD of the Monkees, go to Blockbuster (although it seems as though they're ALL closing down) and rent out Monkees HEAD. You might be surprised.

  1. Hi Celeste!
I have never seen HEAD, although maybe your Aunt C. has...I seem to remember she had a crush on one of the Monkees (Davey?). Or maybe that was your Mom. Or maybe it was a different David, David Cassidy (of The Partridge Family...they traveled around in a groovey school bus, singing a lot. Kinda like the Von Trapp Family, but with bell bottoms and a lot of fringe on their vests instead of lederhosen [http://www.hausofbavaria.com/hose/lederhosen/index.htm]).
ANYWAY, have you seen "Yellow Submarine?" That's a good movie! If you haven't seen it, ask your Dad to rent it next. I bet you'll like the music a lot more!

    Love ya, Aunt A.

PS ... I LOVE your blog!
